The energy label allows consumers to learn about the level of energy efficiency of a product.

Following the European Directive of 22 September 1992, most of the appliances must have an energy label.
As of December 20, 2011, it will be mandatory for televisions, it will be seen on television and in commercials where the price indicated.

Based on icons rather than text, energy label is consistent for the 27 member states of the European Union and does not require translation. It allows to easily compare the energy characteristics of different models.

The energy class of a TV is defined by letters from "A" to "G".
"A" represents the most efficient class "G" the most energy.
To differentiate the products with the best results, three new classes are emerging:
- A +++
- A ++
- A +

The energy label also states:
- The size of the diagonal of the screen (in centimeters and inches).
- The presence or absence of a blackout switch on the TV.
- The power (in watts).
- Annual consumption.
